Parking

Parking for House of Frizz is easy thanks to its location on Starwood Drive, near Watson Parkway North. Clients can usually find free on-street parking on Starwood Drive itself, plus on the adjacent residential roads around the salon like Frasson. Because this area is part of a residential network, on-street parking is permitted — but note that like much of Guelph, overnight on-street parking is restricted between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. from December 1 through April 1.

Parking Information

  • •    Clients may park on-street on Starwood Drive — the street the salon is located on.

        •    You can also usually find parking on nearby residential side-streets and neighbouring roads around the salon. These residential streets often have ample free parking all day.

        •    Parking is free (unless otherwise signed), and spaces are typically a short walk from the front door.

  •     •    House of Frizz sits within the City of Guelph, the following citywide parking restrictions apply.  

        •    From December 1 to April 1, on-street parking is prohibited between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. across most of the city — unless there is a posted sign that explicitly says overnight parking is allowed.  

        •    If you or a guest need overnight street parking during that period, the city allows up to 12 temporary exemptions per residence per calendar year, where you may park up to 2 consecutive nights for up to two vehicles. Exemptions are requested through the city’s online portal.  

        •    Exemptions may be suspended during snow events or snow-plow operations/texts — so they are not guaranteed.

  •     •    Always check posted municipal signage before parking — some streets may have restrictions or special conditions (no parking, permit-only, etc.).

        •    Avoid parking too long in the same spot: many city bylaws discourage leaving a car in the same on-street spot for more than 48 hours.

        •    For nights between December and April: If you expect to stay late or have a guest with you — consider applying for a temporary exemption to avoid possible fines or towing.

        •    If on-street parking isn’t available: in downtown or busier parts of Guelph, municipal lots or parkades are an alternative (though note: our salon is outside the downtown core). You would need a downtown permit for those.  

In Front of Salon

Parking at House of Frizz is simple and convenient. Clients are welcome to park directly in front of the salon along Starwood Drive. This area offers ample on-street parking just steps from our front door, making your visit smooth from the moment you arrive.

Across the Street In front of The Grand Trios Apartment

You’ll also find convenient parking directly across the street from the salon on Starwood Drive, in the on-street spaces in front of the Grand Trios apartment building. This area is easy to access and usually has available spots, giving you another reliable option if the spaces in front of the salon are full. Simply park along Starwood and cross at the Frasson intersection for a quick, safe walk to your appointment.

You can also park across the street on Frasson Drive, which offers convenient on-street parking just a short walk from the salon. This area is easy to access and typically has open spaces, making it a great option if Starwood Drive is busy. Simply park along Frasson and follow the sidewalk toward Starwood Drive for a quick and safe walk to your appointment at House of Frizz.
